Cacao is an incredible plant that has been cultivated and utilized for thousands of years. Cacao has been sought for a variety of purposes, including ritual, by the indigenous peoples of the Americas—the Maya, Zapotec, Olmec, and Aztec. The earthy and grounding qualities of cacao support those who drink it in finding a sense of centeredness, clarity, and strength. Cacao is often referred to as mother for it has a rich brown color and a deep taste that elicit Mother Earth. Through this bridge to our Mother Earth, we find our hearts open like divine rose blossoms as we sit and drink together.
